Thompson Road at Saltzman Road
Project Details
Group Mackenzie managed the public involvement process for Washington County, including a series of open meetings and the creation of a public project advisory committee, made up of local citizens. The design included a full relocation of more than 1,000 feet of Thompson Road, a regrade of Saltzman Road to correct sight distance deficiencies, and a new signalized intersection. The final lane configurations and traffic control were determined in a traffic study prepared by Group Mackenzie, which included a detailed projection of future intersection volumes. In addition, Group Mackenzie prepared the Article 7 land use approval package for the original, and revised, road improvements. The scope of services included 20-year traffic volume projections for the intersection including a detailed analysis of development potential on nearby vacant lands.
