Clackamas Fire District 1 Stations
Project Details
Group Mackenzie provided architectural and engineering services to Clackamas Fire District No. 1 over a period of several years. Projects included four new stations (#4, 5, 7 and 10) and two station renovations (#6 and 11). For each, the goal was to produce a facility that would be cost-effective, durable, and easy to maintain. Floor plans for new stations were simple, clear and efficient, forming three distinct zones: living quarters, public areas, and the apparatus bay. These three zones established three different volumes, breaking the buildings into smaller masses to create more interesting shapes and a human scale. The new stations include: - Mt. Scott Fire Station: Completed 2003; two-story, 12,000 SF - Beavercreek Fire Station: Completed 2002; one-story, 13,800 SF - Pleasant Valley Community Fire Station: Completed 2007; one-story, 6,900 SF - Lake Road Fire Station: Completed 2000; two-story, 10,800 SF
